It was such an incredible week in North Carolina!! On Saturday after a big campus cleanup we headed to Black Mountain, North Carolina for domestic missions!! We set up as soon as we got there, and wow I felt like I was living in luxury, we had super comfy beds, toilets instead of porta potties, and we had amazing showers, it was incredible!! We slept in these big tents that had 12 beds and trailers that had 16 beds!
Our hosts were incredible!! It was an amazing week full of worshipping the Lord together and serving!!! It was also our first time going out and serving as a team, it was incredible seeing everybody’s strengths and what we all add to the group!! My Team did insulation in a crawl space, so that was interesting and fun to learn something new!! The homeowners were the sweetest, Gloria made us some amazing Hibiscus Tea and some gorditas, and the following day she made us some more amazing food!! We were able to finish their house and got to go to another house with another team and help put in more insulation in the ceiling!! What hit me the most this week is that every day before we went out, we took time and started the day off with worshipping God and it really encouraged me to start off every day like that!!
We headed back on Friday after doing a big campus cleanup. On the way back it was rainy, so we preceded to ask Ethan and Bailey in poetic form, if we could please sleep inside for the rest of this week, and it’ll be a fun huge sleepover!! They said they got to talk about it and pray about it!! We got back and it was thundering a little and looking like it could rain so we hurried to set up our tents, right after most of us had already set up our tents some of our leaders came and said we need to take our tents back down (at this point it was raining) because the weather for this week is looking pretty awful, so we got to take our tents back down (in the rain) and got to set up in the carpeted area and have the sleepover we wanted!! It’s awesome besides the fact that you wake up at like 5 in the morning because somebody’s alarm is going off!! It’s okay tho, because we get to have a fun family sleepover!!
Today (Saturday) is our sabbath, so me and some of the girls went to the laundromat with all our clothes and washed them. After we decided to get some food since we were feeling deprived of some good burgers, lol!! And now we are sitting in a coffee shop, and a bunch of the squad is here as well, so now I’m just getting my blog written since I didn’t get it done the past few weeks!
The 4th which is Saturday we finally get to fly out to Eswatini, I am super excited, but definitely need prayers as packing is stressful and for smooth flights and safe traveling!! As far as having service/Wi-Fi won’t be as easily accessible so it might go awhile before I’m able to post another blog, but I’m super excited to update y’all whenever I can!!
Thank you so much for following along on my journey!! God bless y’all!! Love you all so much!!
