First week in Swazi!!

Thankyou, Jesus for this amazing first week in Swazi!!!

Wow it was a long 3 days of traveling, but it was incredible at the same time!! We headed to the airport Saturday the 4th and boarded our flight around 2ish and flew to Turkey, which was a 11 hr flight!! We had a 17 hr layover in Turkey which we spent sleeping and walking around!! We had a sweet moment that we got to talk to Mark (somebody we met at the airport) for a while about Jesus and share testimonies till we had to go to our gate to fly to South Africa ( which was another 10 hr flight)!! It was so incredible how God lined it up!!

We arrived on Monday the 6th and crossed the border into Swazi and dropped the guys off at their base in Manzini and then us girls drove another 2 ish hrs to our base in Nsoko!!

On Tuesday we had a day of rest and finish setting up our stuff. And we had orientation with our hosts!!

Wednesday was our first day of ministry at our carepoints!! My team met our shepherd Happiness and did devotions and then spent time playing with the kids and did some yard work and they showed us how to make a fire and how to make rice for all the kids. After lunch we danced a lot and played games, around 2 the rest of the children showed up (around 100 children total) so we just spent the time playing games and singing.

Wow, all of the children are amazing and it has been incredible how God is showing his love for me thru his children!!! They love braiding our hair!! There’s a sweet girl thats always with me shes 9 years old and shes such a light and I love seeing her Joy and how much it means to her, just holding her hand, even when we have a hard time having a conversation (cuz of language barrier)!! It was very hard leaving the first day, the kids all just surround us giving us hugs and its such a sweet picture of God’s love for us!!!

Thursday and Friday were ministry days as well which were also just spending time with the children and cooking and we did a house visit, where we shared bible verses and got to pray over her!! We took rice to her house and did some yard work, its such an awesome time of serving together in unity as a team and loving each other!!

We also got to help clean the church at the carepoint and polish the floors and get it ready for the Prayer burn that was happening that evening!!

On Saturday we spent the day just chilling and playing games, quiet time with God, taking naps, or however we pleased. Some of us gurls ended up facetiming the guys, which didnt work well cuz of service, and then somehow at some point we ended up on the kitchen floor and talked till around 2 a.m., some awesome girl bonding time!!

Sunday we had sabbath, we weren’t able to go to church, so hopefully this coming sabbath!!! Our day basically consisted of spending time with the Lord, resting, and hanging out with each other!!

Sometimes I still cant believe im actually in Africa like wow God chose me to go on this journey with him!!!

The landscape is so pretty, mountains all around us, new different flowers, and the trees are the authentic Africa tree and its so beautiful!!! Im in awe of God, he truly is a Magnificent and Powerful God!!!
